How do I know if my Antivirus software is working or upto date?
Antivirus Software is a MUST have product with any computer. Without Antivirus protection your computer will probably crash beyond use every 6 months & need to be taken back to PC World & rebuilt, potentially losing valuable data & costing you a fortune.

What are Virus Definitions & why do I need them?
Your Antivirus software will connect with a repositary Server located at your software providers (i.e. Norton, McAfee) Head Office almost every time you connect to the internet to check for what are called Virus Definitions, these can only be described as instructions for your Antivirus Software on the latest Virus Threats & what actions it should take upon receiving these Viruses, these definitions will be stored in a database on your machine which the software relates too.
Sometimes though, something can block your computer from contacting these Server's & hence, within a matter of days, your computer is at risk from the latest Virus Threats. It is again a MUST to be 100% sure that your virus defitions are upto date, without virus definitions you are not utilising your software to it's full potential & take note, Virus Definitions are FREE to download, they don't cost you anything.
